WHAT WE
DO
COMING
UP

In May of 2020, fifteen young women from Life Academy, an Oakland public high school, will bike from San Francisco to San Luis Obispo, a journey of over 200 miles.

As we ride along the boundary between the land and the ocean, we explore the limits of our bodies, we connect with the complexities that emerge on the edges of things and we find our own edges and boundaries.

As we explore the biodiversity that explodes where two ecosystems converge, we learn about the interdependence of life and the ways that human impact has changed the California coast.

ANNOUNCING FREEWHEEL

A monthly bike ride series for young women and gender non-conforming young people to explore the Bay Area by bicycle and learn about social and environmental justice.

MEET THE FIELD SCHOOL

The 7th Annual Bike Down benefit ride was a collaboration between the California Field School and Cycles of Change.  Together, 15 riders raised almost $15,000 to support community bike programs! We spent 4 days exploring the best bike camping and riding the Bay Area has to offer, from China Camp State Park to Angel Island to Haypress Camp in Tennessee Valley.
